Kathleen Tedsen is the Author of The Award-Winning "Haunted Travels of Michigan" trilogy, and is an avid Paranormal Investigator.
Kathleen (Kat) Tedsen attended Indiana University majoring in Media Communication. Following her education, she served over 15 years as a writer, media producer, and program manager with various training and advertising organizations in Metro Detroit.
Kathleen will be presenting Michigan's 19th Century Spiritualists (Two Michigan women who gained the ability to communicate with spirits) @ The 5th Annual Mid-Michigan Paranormal Convention!
For a period of 11 years, she and her sister, Bev Rydel, traveled around the country searching out and investigating many of the American’s most haunted locations. However, their primary focus during that period was Michigan. Since then, they've traveled 10's of thousands of miles around the state in search of Michigan's most haunted locations. Beginning as skeptics, what they have personally witnessed and recorded challenged their beliefs.
The culmination of those investigations resulted in the award-winning Haunted Travels of Michigan trilogy (International Paranormal Acknowledgement Award, Best Non-Fiction Authors and books) and the People’s Choice Award, Literary Non-Fiction/Paranormal.
Kat's last book, Stepping Into Darkness, released in 2018, shares strange, unsettling and dark events and people in Michigan’s past and present that will challenge your beliefs. Her most famous case was “The Holly Demon” (Book 2, Haunted Travels of Michigan). This story was taken by the SyFy Television Network and produced for their series Paranormal Witness. Kat has been the featured speaker at numerous paranormal conferences including the Michigan Paranormal Conference (Sault Ste. Marie), Midwest Parafest (Toledo), Old Mill Parafest (Dundee), and others. She has also spoken at libraries across the state and has been featured in statewide newspapers and local television networks including: Live in the D, CBS Morning News, Fox 2 News, Channel 7/4 Traverse City.
