However, Mackinac Island holds many secrets. These secrets come in many forms—some from beyond the grave, others passed down for hundreds of years.
Todd Clements, author of “Haunts of Mackinac” and the newly released “Haunts of Mackinac: The Next Chapter” will regale Mid-Michigan Paracon attendees with the history, legends and ghost stories of numerous locations on Mackinac Island.
According to Clements, who is also the owner of Haunts of Mackinac Tour Co., the island is one of the most haunted spots in the world for its size. Such well-known sites as Mission Point Resort, the Murray Hotel, Fort Mackinac and Ste. Anne Church have reported numerous cases over the years of ghost sightings, noises and objects moving.
Considered to be the go-to person on all things strange on Mackinac Island, Clements has in-depth knowledge of the island’s history, legends and strange occurrences. He first became interested in the paranormal aspect of the island after having an inexplicable experience there while visiting as a child. This fueled a lifelong interest and curiosity in the paranormal that has led him to research a broad spectrum of unexplained phenomena, and garnered him national recognition in the field.
